Rockclimbing hold

David sends in this novel idea: make your own rockclimbing holds! Plastimake is strong enough for this, and you can see in the photos that he has achieved an interesting textured effect by poking the Plastimake with bristles as it cools.

We reckon you could also get a great texture using sand, can't wait to give it a go here at the Plastimake Lab.

Pro tip: don't mold it onto the wall itself!

I have used Plastimake for dozens of small DIY projects from replacing a broken remote control cover (no more ducttape) to creating hooks, repairing a broken zipper, making a fully threaded replacement cap for a bottle of tomato sauce and to jerry rig a microphone stand to work with the 'wrong' clips.

The techniques and instructions are fantastic - especially colouring!

You can get a similar product at some specialty electronics stores for about 4 times the price for 100g... I am about to order an 800g jar which should keep me going for a while!

David, thanks so much for letting us know about projects. We love your work and look forward to seeing your future creations!
